The Quethiock Curriculum
We offer a broad, ambitious, and knowledge-rich curriculum from Nursery through Year 6. We cover all core and foundation subjects, ensuring every child receives a well-rounded education, including English, Maths, Science, RE, Computing, History, Geography, PE, Music, Art, and PSHE.
Our pupils benefit from outdoor learning and opportunities to learn through hands-on exploration. Our Outdoor Adventure Programme provides regular opportunities to explore nature, develop practical skills, and work collaboratively, where pupils experience activities such as:
Woodland learning, including building dens around the campfire.
Outdoor activities like beach trips, horse riding, canoeing, and mountain biking.
Environmental projects, such as helping to build our eco-farm.
Team-building and leadership tasks, including many residential trips.
Sport events like cycling, football, cricket, and netball.
Academic Excellence

In June 2022, Ofsted judged Quethiock Church of England Primary School to be Good overall, with our Early Years provision rated Outstanding.
Inspectors noted that children in the early years "get off to an impressive start".
Our 2025 Good Level of Development (GLD) outcome reached 86%, significantly above the national expectation of 68%.
In May 2025, our children achieved above the national expectation in their SATs.
Starting the Journey: Nursery & Reception
Our Little Adventurers Nursery gives children the best possible start, combining nurturing care with playful, experience-led learning. Children start their adventure in our outdoor nurseries where they explore their environment, learning about nature and the seasons.
Wellie Time for Nursery children involves outdoor play, exploration, and sensory learning in all weather.
Transition into Reception is gentle, supportive, and joyful, ensuring every child feels safe, ready, and excited to begin their learning journey.
Wraparound Care and Pupil Voice
We offer extensive wraparound and enrichment options , providing flexibility for busy families from 7:45 am - 5:00 pm. After-school clubs include Football, Lego Club, Choir, Arts & Crafts, and Wheelie Wednesdays.
Every child has a voice and is encouraged to take on leadership roles. All children get the opportunity to apply for our councils and learn life skills. Roles include:
